The Passionate Metropolis:

Fortitude Against The Night

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” – C.S. Lewis

Never stop working towards your goals, never stop breaking the boundaries of what those around you have artificially imposed. Make your ambitions into reality, no matter how many obstacles you must conquer to do so. If you become overwhelmed by setbacks, that’s ok. Take a step back, breath, reassess the situation and your goals and then press forward again, renewed. Though few mountains are truly unclimbable, in the event that you encounter such an obstacle where traversal leads to certain demise, then circumnavigate it and proceed elsewhere. The goal is not delusion, but rather true progress. Above all else, persist. Keep advancing, keep growing, even if you must abandon your original goal in favor of a different outcome.

“Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality.” – Malala Yousafzai

The time to act, to seize the occasion, is and always will be right now, this exact moment. Whether you’re charging across the battlefield of life or simply strategizing your plan of attack, the time to forge ahead is now. Get motivated, take charge and start making moves to create the reality you’ve been dreaming about. Seek to make your limitations empowerments, push ahead regardless of the impediments or challengers you must defeat. If not now, then when?

“Some people look for a beautiful place. Others make a place beautiful.” – Hazrat Inayat Khan

To maximize your potential, you must foster a perspective, a worldview, that realizes the endless possibilities you are capable of. You are as strong as you choose to be, as powerful as you make yourself. Who else, other than you, gets to decide? Will you let the obstacles of the world that surrounds you dictate what you accomplish? Take the reins, create a proactive perspective that empowers you, engage in actions that make the world you wish to inhabit a reality, for the wellbeing of both yourself and others. Now, as always, is the time to act.

“You do not find the happy life. You make it.” – Camilla Eyring Kimball

Those who foster a totally passive perspective on life are prone to feelings of helplessness and depression when darkness inevitably surrounds them. Reality will always manifest new joys, as well as sorrows, as that is the nature of a chaotic universe ordered only by the laws of physics. Even the act of interpreting the seemingly spontaneous events around you cannot be passive, as an appraisal of an event’s “positive” or “negative” characteristics is both inherently active and always subjective, dictated entirely by your own beliefs. You do not find a happy life, you create it, first in your mind and spirit and then through the actions that you engage in as a result.
