Seaside Tranquility:

A Peaceful Contemplation

“Peace is liberty in tranquility.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero

Attaining a sense of peace brings freedom to the spirit, for when you can remain peaceful in the face of hardship, it signifies that you have taken control of your own perspective. Those who have gained control over their perspective have achieved the ultimate freedom, the ability to control how the external world affects the mind.

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” – Siddhartha Gautama

The mind is the measure of all things. Once truly set free, it can never again be imprisoned. By gaining mastery over your own perspective on reality and the obstacles it manifests in your path, you can become incredibly resilient to the challenges of the physical world around you. Just remember, though external trials are how you strengthen your mental resolve, it is the interpretation of these trials by the mind that ultimately determines your reality. Thus, the ability to be the master of your own perspective must fundamentally come from within.

“When you make peace with yourself, you make peace with the world.” – Maha Ghosanada

As you get better at maintaining a sense of peace within yourself, so to will you improve your ability to emanate peace into the external world. Unshakeable internal peace is the foundation on which you build the most virtuous and productive external legacy.
